This is one of my favorite pictures. Tommy and Taylor threw the softball around by the beach. Taylor gets her love of sports from her father.
Our girls!
This is how I remember The Outer Banks! You feel like you own the beach. This was taken early in the morning. We love the Outer Banks. You have so much room to let the kids run around and play.
We took a ferry over to Ocracoke Island. My grandparents rode the ferry from Hatteras Island to Orcacoke every night for dinner. The ride over is about 45 minutes. It never feels that long when you are on it, but every night!! Not for us! One day is plenty.
When you ride the ferry there is so much to see to pass the time. I love looking at the the boats. One year Tommy and I remember dolphins swam right beside us.
Pony Island Restaurant. This is were my grandparents ate. They have pictures of me in front of this pony! We didn't eat there. Without them it just doesn't feel right. Tommy and I want to start our own traditions with the girls. We ate at Howard's Pub instead. It was yummy!
Outside an ice cream shop!
We went into a pirate museum, in Ocracoke. Michaela has an imaginary pirate grandfather, grandmother, and a brother (named Tony) This has been going on for a few months. We stopped this museum and learned more about Blackbeard. We all learned something. Of course they had a gift shop, too! Raegan had to model this headband. Michaela got a pirate set. A patch, sword (Thank God it already broke) a compass, a hook! She has a pirate outfit left over from Halloween. She was so excited!
Girl time on the beach!
It was so good to see Taylor smile again, after her surgery.
Snack time on the beach!
This is the house from the movie Nights of Rodanthe. They added lots of props to the house. They took off the shutters, too. The house is condemned now because of a storm that came through. There is sand all around it. The plan is to re-open it.
We had a great time this year. It was full of laughter, squeals, and giggles. We are looking forward to next time. Time is flying. Our girls are precious. I am already planning our next family getaway!!
